  I had a great opportunity to meet and interview Dyrell & Andaiye Scott-Madison at their new restaurant Artmosphere Digital Cafe. The cafe is located in historic Mount Ranier, MD. The offer a wide array of teas & coffee and some great food. We sat down and discussed their venture.How did you find out about the development of an arts district in PG County? I was hired to paint a 200 foot mural with 10 high school kids. This mural covered the construction site of the Mount Rainier Artist Lofts. It was well received by the community and the ArtSpace organization. Through that project, I met with the president of ArtSpace and the Gateway CDC which eventually led to the information about the commercial spaces in this building. Why a coffee shop? There is no coffee shop within miles of this location. This is an eclectic community of artists which is a common audience for the coffee clientele. Is that your art in the cafe? Yes, my wife Andaiye, and I both paint and perform live in concert. The painted work in the cafe is ours and we both perform here as well. Explain the environment of the cafe? The environment of ARTMOSPHERE Community Digital Café reflects the history of Mount Rainier as a transit hub, the growing arts district. Imagine the interior of a cyber based digital art gallery with monitors throughout, tile floors, granite bar, contemporary styling with plush couches. Then bring that image in to 2007 with unexpected creativity and imaginative décor, community bulletin boards for folks to post local arts related happenings and offerings and a taste of the arts in the community. How often are live events held in the cafe? Live jazz happy hour, Live music each Friday and Saturday night and jazz brunch every Saturday. Live jazz brunch every Saturday 11-2 Do you perform there?
